Salary: $45,000 

Schedule: Non-standard hours; must be able to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Scope of Position: The Multimedia Services Technician provides multimedia and audio-visual support for special events, concerts, performances, lectures, presentations, and film programs for internal and external events at the Museum. This position works alongside an AV team that supports all audio-visual needs for museum events. 


Essential Functions: 


  • Installs, coordinates, and takes down all aspects of audio-visual/sound support for Museum programs and events, including pre-production. 
  • Operates theatre booth including film, video, DVD, and digital formats.
  • Controls audio and lighting during live presentations. 
  • Maintains and controls inventory of multimedia equipment. 
  • Provide technical assistance for setup for meetings, presentations, and training. 
  • Participates in weekly department logistics and meetings. 
  • Works closely with all departments and museum staff in event coordination. 
  • Works closely with Museum catering staff in the event coordination of private events. 
  • Additional duties as assigned. 


Requirements

Knowledge Skills and Abilities: 

  • 1+ years of professional audio-visual/sound technician experience.
  • 1+ years of experience with live music events. 
  • Demonstrated ability to set up, adjust, maintain, and troubleshoot a variety of audio-visual and computer presentation equipment. 
  • Proficiency in Windows and MacOS platforms. 
  • Demonstrated ability to handle technical needs for live presentations, lectures, and performances. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work with telecommunication and networking equipment. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to solve technical problems often under challenging time constraints and conditions. 
  • Basic knowledge of audio and visual documentation and duplication techniques. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with the public, including outside presenters; possess good communication skills. 
  • Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills. 
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds.
