Diesel Mechanic


Job Summary

Responsible for day-to-day equipment maintenance on company equipment consisting of preventative maintenance, minor to major repairs to tractors and trailers.   


Essential Duties

  • Perform maintenance, preventive maintenance and repair of company equipment and tools involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems
  • Troubleshoots, diagnoses and repairs mechanical, electrical and hydraulic malfunctions 
  • Performs P.M. inspections to ensure DOT requirements are met
  • Performs other tasks/projects as instructed by VP of Fleet Maintenance
  • Assists with road service calls during emergency breakdowns.
  • Complete required documentation associated with repairing vehicles and documenting parts usage
  • Assures compliance with all appropriate safety rules and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: 


  • Valid and unrestricted Driver’s license
  • Must have a Toolbox 
  • Automotive/Mechanical Trade or Vocational certification preferred. ASE certification preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of Technician experience preferred. 
  • New and Recent Diesel Mechanics are welcome. Must have graduated from an Accredited Diesel Mechanic program.


Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to enter and exit the driver's compartment of the truck and/or behind cab using normally available footholds and handholds. 
  • Ability to move and position objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and crawl to inspect and or wash vehicles.
