Pay Range: $18.75 - $ 23.95 / Hourly  (Pay information will vary depending upon relevant experience for the position.)   

Full-Time Days, Monday - Friday 


The accounting assistant is responsible to assist the finance department with maintaining accounts payable details, preparing cash receipts entries, and general account reconciliations to support the generation and distribution of accurate and timely financial data. This position also provides clerical support to the finance office staff. 


  

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Record deposit activity for month-end posting and reconciliation.
  • Prepare and record journal entries for miscellaneous cash receipts.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly account reconciliations for bank accounts, receivables, and other liability accounts.
  • Research and resolve reconciling items.
  • Compile information and prepare spreadsheets to assist finance department and outside auditors in internal and external statement preparations.
  • Assist the Controller to update policies and procedures.
  • Ensure proper filing of documents.
  • Assist with data entry, filing and clerical support as needed
  • Act as backup for Accounts Payable and Payroll Administrator positions
  • Maintain fixed assets, purchase orders, company credit card system, and other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS: ]

  • Associates degree in accounting or equivalent work experience.
  • No experience required.
  • Excellent communication skills. 
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities. 
  • Excellent customer service skills. 
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy in data entry. Superior organizational skills. 
  • Excellent computer skills including, but not limited to, experience with Microsoft office products. 
  • Ability to interact courteously and tactfully with staff, residents, family members, visitors, vendors and the general public.

Performing duties of this job requires occasional walking and standing and prolonged sitting. Must be able to occasionally lift loads of 30 pounds without assistance and the ability to sit, talk, and hear is required. SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIP: The work is performed within established guidelines, and requires periodic supervision. The employee exercises some initiative and independent judgment to effectively perform the essential job duties of this position.


RESPONSIBILITY FOR OTHERS: The employee has no direct responsibility for others. 


SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES: Shall be fully acquainted with all safety policies and procedures of the Church Home. Takes an active role in all fire drills during the shift and/or emergencies for internal and external disasters as monitored by supervisor and incident manager. Must comply with facility in-service requirements.
