Description
The Maintenance Shop Clerk is responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing parts in a way that ensures they arrive at the right place at the right time. In addition, the clerk will assist the Plant Purchaser as needed in their duties to ensure parts are ordered in a timely manner. The parts clerk may also be tasked with maintaining records related to inventory or other tasks. This helps them ensure that they have enough parts on hand to meet demand, while also ensuring that they don’t overstock any items.
- Organizing and maintaining inventory records for all parts in stock, ensuring that the stock level does not fall below minimum levels.
- Maintain parts inventory, including stocking shelves, organizing bins, binning new parts, and recording the location, conducting perpetual bin audits, and maintaining special order bins.
- Maintain accurate records of damaged/used parts and process appropriate dispositions of the parts.
- Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage area in order.
- Receiving and verifying new stock when delivered.
- Dispensing the parts and materials to other workers in the company.
- Ensuring all parts are in good condition and comply with industry standards.
- Warehouse/Stockroom Inventory Cycle Counts
- Help maintain a database of all part numbers and identifying information such as manufacturer details, part functionality, and model numbers.
- Coordinating with company purchaser to ensure that orders are picked, packed, and shipped on time.
- Assist in addressing procurement issues, i.e. invoice and receipt discrepancies, expediting orders.
- Maintaining records related to inventory or other tasks.
- Sweep, Mop and keep up with the organization of the warehouse/stockrooms.
- Provide administrative support to the Plant Purchaser.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED or Technical School
- 2 - 3 years of skilled industrial maintenance experience preferred.
- Minimum 1 year shop clerk experience.
- Manufacturing parts and equipment purchasing experience preferred.
- Preferred training / experience in at least two or more of the following Areas • Single and three phase industrial electricity and control systems • AC/DC drive Systems • Pneumatics / hydraulics systems • Welding practices and techniques • Machining /fabricating practices and techniques • Industrial boiler operations • Water Treatment Systems • HVAC Systems
- Experience with mechanical preventative maintenance systems preferred.
- Must be able to pass all medical exams, drug and background checks (including criminal).
Salary Description
$19 - $28 per hour *Based on experience
