Field Services Inspector

Description


Responsible for ensuring contract compliance is provided for contractors performing construction on the customer's electric transmission system. Will ensure work is completed safely and to design specifications. The scope of work will vary from simple upgrades to full rebuilds. Responsible for identifying and assisting in the resolution of issues that could compromise the success of a project (e.g., design issues, material issues, contractor performance issues, access issues, customer issues).

Requirements

3+ years of relevant work experience in the Utility industry. 

Leadership/compliance management experience is also a plus. 

Proficient at using a computer and Microsoft Office products. 

Ability to communicate and work with remote teams.

Maintain day-to-day surveillance of construction activities to assure compliance with specifications, drawings and job instructions.

Provide detailed reporting of such activities.

Supervise and coordinate contract inspection services and customer inspection activities.

Assist the Engineering and Construction Supervisor in various activities during planning and execution of construction projects.

Analyze and document trends in construction deficiencies.

Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in construction methods and specifications.

Strong communication skills

Experienced completing job hazard analysis, and job safety analysis related to the work activities 

An understanding of construction plans and project specifications

A team player with an ability to work cohesively with clients

Driver's License (Required)

  • Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate.
  • Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency.

Education

A minimum of a high school diploma is required. A degree, certificate, or other coursework from an institution specializing in Electrical Line construction and maintenance or similar institution is preferred.
