Job Objective

The Avionics Engineer is responsible for monitoring repairs and systems and providing strong engineering leadership skills.


Essential Functions

  • Identify gaps between requirements, design, manufacturing, and operations
  • Assess and approve technical completion and compliance at major program and avionics technical reviews
  • Provide engineering leadership and mentorship to coordinate design, analysis, and systems engineering processes throughout development, verification, delivery, and operation
  • Participate with other members to assess and enforce engineering process health and compliance.
  • Represent the Company and project with key customers
  • Provide experienced technical and programmatic leadership
  • Monitor performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements
  • Perform other duties relative to position, as assigned by the direct supervisor
Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSA)

  • Proficient background in avionics, safety-critical electronic systems, and/or flight control systems
  • Possess sound judgment and objectivity in decision-making
  • Ability to create an environment that demonstrates teamwork and professionalism with diverse personalities and professional backgrounds
  • Ability to maintain cooperative and harmonious relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities and strong initiative

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry

Physical Demands

  • Walking, standing, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, kneeling, squatting for extended periods of time
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must have sufficient vision and ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (High Visibility clothing, Ear protection, safety glasses) when required

Work Environment

  • Temperature-controlled office
  • Exposure to Indoor/Outdoor environments with potential extreme hot and cold temperatures
  • Exposure to hazardous chemicals is possible
  • Moderate to loud noise level

Status & Schedule

  • Full-time
  • Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week
  • Overtime necessary depending on workload
  • No travel required
