We currently seek a full-time Employer Specialist to join our Workforce Development team. The Employer Specialist is responsible for making the connections to employment opportunities that match our participants’ knowledge, skills, abilities, and interest. This position is responsible for creating new opportunities for employment in addition to supporting retention in collaboration with the Case Manager or Retention Specialist.


Pay Range: $29.67 - $30.77 per hour 

Requirements

 

Essential Duties:

  •  Establish and maintain relationships with business representatives in the warehouse, food service, janitorial, and construction industry as well other secular employment opportunities in the health sector; Also entry-level, mid management and upper management positions within the For-Profit & Non-For-Profit sector to promote Osborne’s participants with employment opportunities
  • Develop specific opportunities that match the skill sets, work experience, training/certification and vocational interests of Osborne’s participants
  • Collect data from employers related to job orders, including a description of the position, minimum qualifications, salary ranges and scheduling information
  • Pre-screen and vet candidates on behalf of the employers
  • Conduct necessary follow-up with the employers when applicants are placed in positions to determine skills and training requirements for advancements
  • Work with Career Coaches to develop training opportunities to increase participants skills
  • Enter and maintain employer information, employer satisfaction, and placement verification data in the Salesforce database
  •  Keep abreast with current labor market trends and labor market information by researching, attending meetings, maintaining contacts with various trade schools and professional community organizations that are involved in job placement, and participating in training activities, particularly within Osborne Association’s target industries
  • Attend assigned training
  • In-person collaboration is an essential function of the job
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • Minimum three years of sales experience and/or placement experience in either the public or nonprofit sector, or comparable recruiting experience for a corporation
  • Minimum one year of experience in job development for justice-involved individuals 

 Key Competencies:

  • Knowledge of the New York City labor market trends, with expertise in the warehouse, janitorial, food service, construction, or related industries
  • Strong organization skills and detail-oriented
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel locally
