Position Summary:

Are you an extrovert or people person? Are you passionate about connecting people to the mission? This role will deepen donor relationships and listen to donors to identify partnership opportunities. They will have a proven ability to foster, maintain, and manage relationships with a diverse donor base. 

The ideal candidate will help the Donor Engagement team stay connected to current donors and acquire new donors. 

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate and administer monthly donor stewardship strategy meetings in conjunction with the Director of Donor Engagement and chief officers.
  • Plan and execute an annual communication plan for monthly and pledge donors.
  • Respond to gifts, questions, and requests from donors in a timely manner. 
  • Thank all new donors through phone calls and written correspondence.
  • Assists with the production and distribution of annual donor communications such as holiday cards, thank you notes, and annual reports.
  • The coordinator will lead the execution and follow up of prospect point of entry events.
  • Maintains donor privacy and accurate record keeping through CRM Virtuous.
  • Identifies donors for special stewardship by the Donor Engagement Director or a chief officer.

Deliverables:

  1. Thank prioritized donors in a timely manner (within 48 hours).
  2. Maintain and grow donor relationships and engagement through relationship building and responsive fundraising approach.
  3. Lead planning and execution of donor events and communications.
  4. Use tools (CRM/Google/LinkedIn) to make moves management recommendations for currently unengaged or under-engaged donors.
  5. Set and attend meetings with current and prospective donors monthly.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS -

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Knowledge of:

  • Communication techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform and engage via written, oral, and visual media.
  • CRM or donor database software (Virtuous preferred).
  • General understanding of fundraising, specifically donor relations and communication.
  • Understanding of the Benevon fundraising model a plus.

Skills:

  • The ideal candidate will possess exemplary interpersonal and written communication skills as well as phone skills and etiquette.
  • Basic technological skills: using computers and telephones as well as trouble-shooting.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with leadership, clients, donors, and peers.
  • Basic professional skills.
  • Determining organizational needs and donor's ability and affinity.

Abilities:

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow processes for confidential information.

  • Must be a self-starter, able to show initiative and intentional effort to plan ahead with forethought, assess and prioritize daily demands of the job, and follow through in a timely professional manner.

Experience:

  • Minimum three years in related field(s).
  • Preferably with a Non-profit, Education, Sales, Customer Service, Human Services, or other related industry in fund development, stewardship, advancement services or related field. Previous experience interacting with donors is preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Computer Skills:

  • Excellent computer skills, particularly with word processing, spreadsheet programs, and database management.
  • General understanding of Google Suite.
  • General understanding of CRM Virtuous.
  • General understanding of relationship building and management.

Other Requirements:

  • Must be a “people person.” Must thrive making connections and building relationships.
  • Languages: Must be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing, in the English language, with proper etiquette.
  • Office or other equipment: Normal use and understanding of basic office equipment including the computer and its related software.
  • Able to learn donor database software for the purpose of research and data updates.
