Carolina Athletic Hospitality is looking to hire an office intern for the 2024-2025 year. This is a year-long internship and will start in May/June 2024 and end in May 2025.


The Carolina Athletic Hospitality office intern plays a vital role in the success of the football, basketball, and baseball premium operations, and the events hosted in the Blue Zone. Our intern will work closely with the UNC Athletic Department, The Rams Club, Athletic Donors, and our game day staff.


As the office intern, you will be responsible for recruiting, hiring, and managing 80-90 game day workers for the football season. Other responsibilities include preparation, organization, and management of our premium and club areas on game days. Interpersonal, multitasking and communication skills are necessary and should be developed throughout this internship.


The intern must be flexible with scheduling and willing to work long hours on weekdays and weekends. Ideal candidates are preferably recent college graduates and should be available to work regularly in the office Monday – Friday, 25-30 hours weekly, sometimes more or less depending on the sports season. In addition to daily administrative tasks, interns are required to work all home football games. Basketball & baseball games will be divided between office staff, along with rental events.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Supporting the Hospitality Manager and Assistant Manager
  • Managing designated premium areas on football, basketball and baseball game days and assisting with special events
  • Organizing and maintaining game day event supplies and materials
  • Communicating with game day staff members, athletic donors, and athletics personnel
  • Training and managing game day staff and contracted vendors.
  • Daily office tasks
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Availability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays from the beginning of June through the end of May
  • Must be able to work independently and manage all staff and functions of a game day manager
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and work long hours on your feet
  • Must have a valid driver’s license for personal transportation
  • Strong customer service, hospitality skills; excellent communication skills, oral and written
  • Ability to think quickly on his/her feet; great problem-solving skills under pressure
  • Dependable and dedicated work ethic; team player mentality
  • Exemplifying strong leadership skills while leading by example
