Schedule:
Mixed scheduled with at least 2 late days/week . As late as 6:30pm
Job Summary: Evaluate patients, plan, and administer physical therapy treatments and re-evaluate patient’s progress during and following treatment. Evaluation and treatment shall be initiated only by written prescription or confirmed order by a qualified medical professional, as stated in the Practice Act. Therapist will interact with members of this department to provide essential departmental operational tasks, including patient treatment, continuing education, infection control, and quality assurance. Physical Therapist will maintain communication through documentation and verbal consultation with medical staff and physicians to provide optimal patient care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The essential duties of the position include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Key Functions:
- Utilizes a collaborative relationship to ensure the safe, efficient delivery of patient care
- Interacts frequently with all patient service departments and utilizes interdisciplinary input to implement patient care plans
- Provides patient care based upon the patient’s needs and medical assessment, written evaluation, and plan of care condition
- Provides treatment and monitors the patient’s response to rehabilitation in compliance with practice standards.
- Documents all patient care treatment according to industry and practice standards in the E.H.R and insuring that all services ordered are coded in the E.H.R. and on patient flowsheet.
- Participates in office meetings and educational activities. Assumes responsibility and accountability for maintaining and improving physical therapy knowledge and skills.
- Maintains work area in neat and orderly manner.
- Complies with HIPAA procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Physical Therapy Assistant(s)(PTA) and Physical Therapy Technician(s) (PT Tech)

Education/Experience: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree; Certification from a Physical Therapy curriculum approved by the Texas State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners as described by the Texas Physical Therapy Practice Act.
