Description

We are seeking a skilled and versatile HVAC Service/Installation Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing operational issues with industrial HVAC systems. Additionally, this role encompasses various functions such as new equipment installation, start-ups, warranty repairs, and identifying sales opportunities for the sales department.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. The employee will have a strong understanding of Mechanical Equipment Applications, drawings, and schematics installation and service.


Education/Experience: High school diploma and minimum of five years related experience and/or training or equivalent of education and experience in installation and service. Complete knowledge of commercial and industrial HVAC Units installation and service. Experience with DX, Split, CRAC, Cooling Towers and Chillers and comfort cooling is preferred.


Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient and have basic knowledge of computers and MS Office Suite, Programmable Logic Controls and Direct Digital Controls related to HVAC systems.


Certificates and Licenses: Valid Driver's License, Apprentice HVAC License; HVAC Journeyman License required and Universal EPA Certification.


Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.

Technician will work daily at customer sites where climate and noise levels will vary. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and other duties may be assigned:

• Provide outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers.

• Attend required vendor training and company sponsored classes.

• Maintain truck stock inventory- repair parts.

• Maintain company vehicle in clean manner (inside and out), drive safely and adhere to all driving laws.

• Maintain a clean driving record as per Tate's Fleet Policy

• Maintain regular attendance.

• Assist inside service or sales by identifying Technician Lead as applicable.

• Prepare and submit accurate service tickets for all work performed on a daily basis.

• Assist with training less experienced personnel.

• Maintain records concerning time, labor and materials and logs of tasks performed.

• Troubleshoot and repair equipment.

• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.

• On call 24/7 as scheduled

• Inspect, repair, modify and install HVAC equipment including refrigeration and air conditioning compressors, receivers, condensers, evaporators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units and ancillary equipment.

• Knowledge of relevant building codes and regulations is a plus.

• Basic understanding of pipe installation

• Download and back up Control files for customer equipment.

• Install new HVAC equipment and ductwork.

• Conduct start-ups for newly installed HVAC systems per manufacture.

• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills.

• Knowledge of relevant building codes and regulations.
