This position reports to the Director, Business Development and will be working closely with a fast-moving team delivering next-generation legged robotic solutions for defense, homeland, public safety and enterprise customers worldwide. Key Duties

  • Lead a diversified technical team on RDT&E engineering projects from program inception through hardware/software development, implementation, testing & support.
  • Apply business development experience, including interacting with clients to promote expansion of projects, proposal preparation and development of long term programs.
  • Reports to the Project Management Lead and assists with the development of strategic objectives and technical vision for program growth, expansion of business, client cultivation, and identification of needed capability enhancements and staffing needs.
  • Maintain strong organizational and innovative skills and lead multi-disciplinary technical teams in the successful development, implementation and delivery of advanced engineering systems involving hardware and software development.
  • Provide management and leadership of advanced engineering and R&D projects involving hardware and software development, system engineering, fabrication, test, and support for a mix of U.S. Government and international clients.
  • Provide support of business development efforts including interaction with clients to define requirements and develop SOWs, preparation of white papers, technical reports, and development of proposals.
  • Successfully manage the triple constraint for engineering projects, including preparing/tracking budgets, management of technical scope to meet program requirements and use of Microsoft Office or similar software to manage milestones/deliverables.
  • Occasional travel to U.S. or international locations to attend program reviews, technical interchange meetings, design reviews and client meetings.
  • Plan, organize, lead and coordinate the activities of project technical and administrative support staff.


Requirements

Education and Experience

  • BS/BA in Electrical, Mechanical or Software Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or other related disciplines.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or Federal Acquisition Certification for Program and Project Managers.
  • Five (5) plus years experience in the development, promotion, and expansion of technical programs, including leading and preparing successful technical proposals.
  • Five (5) plus years experience with the project management and leadership of engineering programs in defense or technical applications, including management of diverse engineering teams, interface with clients and successful management of projects within cost, schedule and technical objectives.
  • Government, Military, National Security or Critical Infrastructure program management experience preferred.
  • Proven working experience as a program manager, project manager, or a relevant role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Project with experience creating, managing, and tracking project schedules (IMS) and budgets, including experience implementing and executing earned value management. 
  • Experience managing projects using CMMI and ISO9001 quality systems is helpful.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, organizational and multitasking skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with c clients, executive management, and project staff.
  • Proficiency in English, Secondary Language preferred.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Ability to obtain additional Security Clearances based on customer/territory requirements. 
  • Must be able to travel >50% to visit customers and sales channels throughout an assigned region.

Travel

Less than 50% Domestic and/or International Travel depending on the designated market. Available to travel on short notice and willing to travel from a few days to more than a week at a time.
