Description:
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated professional to join our team of paralegals to support the Litigation Attorneys of HunterMaclean. The type of litigation our attorneys handle includes Corporate Litigation, Admiralty, Medical Malpractice Defense, and other Specialty Litigation. All paralegals are required to complete any administrative task as assigned.
Our firm is technological centered. Employees are required to attend training courses with our in-house trainer. We are looking for employees who will proactively use the technology and other firm resources available to problem solve and continue to improve their work.
Duties:
· Assist during all phases of the litigation process.
· Draft, prepare, and file pleadings, discovery requests, motions, and other litigation-based documentation.
· Prepare witness and matter materials for case preparation.
· Prepare for and attend depositions (including contact with Court Reporters for scheduling) and trials.
· Edit and proofread documents (including using tracking feature in Word).
· Aid attorneys in mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation.
· Continuously maintain electronic and paper files.
· Draft and revise formal correspondence.
· Coordinate and track document productions and deadlines (including mass discovery production).
· Conduct various document searches and factual research.
· Schedule case events as it may pertain to discovery and case management, including depositions, hearings, and meditations.
· Maintain attorney’s schedule with direction from attorney.
· Schedule client meetings and communicate with clients on a daily basis.
· Communicate and schedule matters with Judicial Assistants and Court Administrators on a daily basis.
· Assist with posting of billing entries and generation of invoices for attorneys when needed.
· Perform conflict checks and open new client matters in practice management system when needed.
· Proficiently E file in both state and federal court in a timely manner.
· Accounts for billable time accurately, timely, and appropriately.
· Complete administrative duties such as typing, calendaring/docketing deadlines, interacting with clients, filing and other tasks when needed.
· Organize and label documents consistently and accurately.

Required Skills:
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion.
· Minimum 3-5 years litigation experience.
· Must be able to take direction and work independently.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment by completing multiple time-sensitive tasks on a daily basis.
· Excellent word processing and proof-reading skills.
· Excellent administrative skills.
· Extremely professional, well organized, detail oriented, and must have the ability to multitask in a high activity environment.
· Be able to actively prioritize and re-prioritize assignments and operate well under pressure.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Knowledge of State, Federal, and Appellate Rules of Procedure.
· Advanced technology skills, including paperless document and case management (i.e., bates stamping, redaction, and compiling of multiple PDFs).
· Proactive approach to resolve issues before they become problems.
· Previous use of firm’s current document and billing management systems is a plus (NetDocs, Aderant, iTimeKeep)
Job Type: Full-Time in person
Benefits: Paid Time Off, Full benefits package, 401(k) with matching
Schedule: 7.5-hour day shifts Monday-Friday, or as needed
Pay Range: $62k-$68k
