Your mission      

• Conceptualization and Design: Collaborate with   global cross-functional teams (CH and USA), including product managers, and   R&D, to conceptualize and design orthopedic implants and instruments.
• 3D Modeling and prototyping: Utilize CAD software   (SolidWorks, Inventor) to create accurate and detailed 3D models of   orthopedic implants and instruments considering ergonomic and functional   requirements. Design iterations using rapid prototyping techniques.
• Engineering Drawings: Develop comprehensive   engineering drawings that include GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and   Tolerancing) for manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Prototype Development: Work closely with the global   R&D team to produce physical prototypes for testing and validation purposes.
• Database and documentation management: Manage and   optimize the drawings and models database, bringing older models to current   standards. Maintain accurate records of design changes, revisions, and   project progress.
• Design Optimization: Continuously assess and refine designs   for performance, manufacturability, and cost-efficiency.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with manufacturing   suppliers to facilitate the smooth transition from design to production
• Problem Solving: Identify and address design   challenges and issues that may arise during the development process.

Your skills and professional experience  

• Finished education in CAD design and modelling (Konstrukteur EFZ) or further education HF Technician
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor) and experience with GD&T
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities
• Deadline-driven and committed to quality.
• Good German and English skills
