Rigging Line Lead

As the Rigging Line Lead at Freeman Boatworks LLC, you will be responsible for overseeing the rigging assembly line, ensuring the efficient and accurate installation of rigging components on our composite boats. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a dedication to maintaining the highest standards of quality and productivity.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Team Leadership: Lead and supervise a team of rigging technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the successful execution of rigging assembly tasks. Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, collaboration, and accountability.

2. Production Planning: Work with production managers to develop daily production schedules, prioritize tasks, and allocate resources effectively to meet production targets. Monitor workflow and adjust staffing levels as needed to maintain efficiency and productivity.

3. Rigging Assembly: Oversee the assembly of rigging components, including wiring, plumbing, hardware installation, and system integration, according to engineering specifications and quality standards. Ensure that all rigging work is performed accurately and efficiently to meet production deadlines.

4. Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure that rigging assemblies meet the company's standards for fit, finish, functionality, and reliability. Conduct inspections and audits to identify and address any deviations or defects in rigging work.

5. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains in rigging assembly operations. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop and implement improvements to streamline workflow, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.

6. Training and Development: Provide ongoing training and skill development opportunities to rigging technicians to enhance their technical proficiency, product knowledge, and workmanship. Encourage continuous learning and improvement among team members.

7. Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, procedures, and regulations in rigging assembly operations. Promote a culture of safety awareness and adherence to safety guidelines to minimize the risk of accidents or injuries.

Requirements

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training in marine technology or a related field is preferred.

- Proven experience in rigging assembly or marine systems installation, preferably in the composite boat manufacturing industry.

- Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team.

- Technical expertise in rigging systems, including electrical, plumbing, and mechanical components.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in marine manufacturing operations.
