Job Description


This position will play an integral role at BAC by driving and implementing continuous improvement throughout the business. The IE works cross-functionally across the plant to eliminate waste and improve product, material, and information flow.


Job Responsibilities

  • Support the development and achievement of KPIs that deliver results for Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery. KPIs will encompass OTD, past dues, yield, cost of scrap, labor efficiency, safety, achieving 3rd Day sales target, etc.
  • Implement key Lean initiatives for Creating Continuous Flow (CCF), Value Stream Mapping (VSM), and Making Material Flow (MMF). These initiatives will include mistake-proofing, Kanban pull systems,5S, two-bin tool systems, etc.
  • Manages assigned projects, works cross-functionally to identify changes, and requires resources to obtain objectives.
  • Support initiatives for time studies, eliminating NVA work content, and implementing production line layouts in Visio. 
  • Create a climate of trust and respect within the group. Exchange information regarding operations with employees, peers, and management.
  • Facilitate kaizen events to improve quality, cost, delivery, and safety.
  • Responsible for understanding, leveraging, sustaining, and improving the following Lean principles, tools, and systems: Work Content Graph (line balancing), Standard Work, Standard WIP, Visual Staffing Plan, Variation Tracking, Equipment Capacity, 5S, 8 Wastes, Continuous Improvement System and Kaizen.
  • Coordinate and lead facility layout and workstation design projects to reduce work content, improve line or business unit flow, and optimize space requirements for equipment and people.
  • Update labor standards for product costing annually.
  • Responsible for mentoring and coaching others regarding concepts relevant to Industrial Engineering and Lean. Effectively facilitates Lean training.
Requirements
  • A bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or an engineering degree is required.
  • Demonstrated success with Lean tools and methodologies, and continuous improvement is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Ability to solve large-scale complex problems through robust data analysis.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with an ISO13485 Quality Management System.
  • Take initiative and be highly accountable.

  • Know the priorities.
  • Manage with a sense of urgency.
  • Build respectful and trusting relationships with peers, as well as direct reports and cross-functional support.
