Job Summary

The Associate Advisor is primarily responsible for providing support to the Financial Advisors with their clients’ advanced service and financial planning needs, while also attending to their own clients’ needs. The Associate Advisor will be responsible for conducting regular Portfolio Reviews with their clients. They will also be available to provide backup service assistance for Client Service Associates (CSAs), as needed.


Role Responsibilities

Associate Advisor

  • Meet with clients regularly to conduct Portfolio Reviews.
  • Proactively and reactively reach out to clients to assist with financial planning issues and life transitions.
  • Work with CSAs to open new accounts for clients and to facilitate other service matters.
  • Place trades in clients’ accounts as needed, monthly for DCAs and semi-annually for global rebalance.
  • Member of the Investment Committee.
  • Watch economic and investment monthly webinars.
  • Continually learn and grow. 

Supporting Financial Advisors

  • Prepare and follow up for Financial Advisors’ top client Portfolio Reviews, including collecting tax returns, reviewing Financial Plan recommendations, important dates/ages coming up, and past activities & notes.
  • Work with the outside professional advisors of our top clients to enhance the holistic financial planning they receive.
  • Update Financial Plans in eMoney before and after client meetings and as needed.
  • Run analysis and research for Financial Advisors’ top clients, as needed.
  • Provide back up to CSAs for service requests, as needed.

Skills/Competencies

  • Quick response time to clients and excellent communication externally and internally.
  • Excellent follow through to ensure tasks are completed quickly and mistake-free.
  • A strong desire for pursuing continuing education and knowledge on tax, financial planning, investments, and regulations.

Education/Certifications

Bachelor’s Degree

Candidate for CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER designation (preferred)

Series 65 license (preferred)
