Job Description


This position will be responsible for procuring materials, services, equipment, and supplies used in the manufacturing of medical devices. The Planner will also collaborate with our Research and Development team to plan, coordinate, and schedule builds and inventory control of material required for R&D projects by customer requirements and product forecasts. The Planner will manage the relationship with assigned suppliers to achieve company business objectives. 


Job Responsibilities

  • Plan the production schedule and monitor work-in-process to ensure customer delivery requirements are met.
  • Release work orders.
  • Analyzes MRP requirements to ensure accuracy and integrity; determines future needs; decides min/max and economic order quantity. Maintains MRP data.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
  • Coordinates subcontracted materials and services.
  • Tracks and monitors purchase orders, keeping informed of any problems/delays and communicating any impacts/constraints.
  • Expedites/Defers materials to ensure product availability per the build schedule.
  • Collaborates with suppliers to support BSLC business initiatives.
  • Participates in the cross-functional team for supplier approval requests, set-up, and monitoring.
  • Establish and monitor inventory levels to ensure minimum stock levels are maintained.
  • Assist Accounting in resolving invoice discrepancies.
  • Review requisitions, quotes, drawings/specifications, place purchase orders from approved requisitions, and solicits quotes.
  • Prepare reports on purchase activity supplier performance and BSLC schedule execution.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with vendors and customers.
  • Identify and mitigate risks and manage customer issues.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in the supply chain, Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field. preferred or equivalent work experience required.
  • Professional certifications through APICS, ISM, and/or CSCMP are preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related business or manufacturing experience preferred 
  • Planning and Inventory Control or Master Scheduling experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of ERP/MRP systems is preferred; NetSuite experience is a bonus.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced working with an ISO 13485 Quality Management System.
  • Proficiency with data analytics (databases, MS Excel, and presentations) and MS Office.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
