New Horizons is the largest mental health and addiction recovery provider on the Treasure Coast (and beyond), serving 15,000 children and adults annually through inpatient crisis services, 24-hour help line and mobile response team, and outpatient programs conveniently located across Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee and St. Lucie counties. In addition, New Horizons assists 22,000 students in area schools, and we work closely with the courts, law enforcement, jails, and hospitals to help improve the health of individuals and the quality of life in our community.


New Horizons is a nonprofit agency seeking a caring and compassionate Psychiatrist/PMHNP to provide a combination of Inpatient and Outpatient services. Our Inpatient units work on a 24/7 schedule. We Offer Flexible work hours and are hiring for Full-time, Part-time and PRN positions!


As a Psychiatrist your responsibilities will include:

  • Provides psychiatric care in accordance with community standards and the Agency's protocol for the provision of these services
  • Serves on the outpatient office treatment team and provides psychiatric consultation for members of other disciplines
  • Ensures that clinical documentation required of the assigned psychiatrist is complete and accomplished in a timely manner
  • Provides all on-call services in accordance with the Agency's protocols and standards for such services
  • Attending Baker Act Court , as needed
  • Serves on Agency committees and work groups as assigned

Requirements

New Horizons will need you to have the following qualifications:

  • Licensed as a physician in the State of Florida, MD or DO Required
  • Board Certified or eligible for certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, preferred ,NOT REQUIRED.
  • Experience in Mental Health Preferred
  • Must be able to apply Therapeutic Effective Aggression Management Techniques without limitation
