Position Purpose

The Parts Department is a vital part of the dealership, and the way it builds open, honest, trusting relationships with customers and other departments are essential to the dealership’s success. The Parts Sales Manager will be expected to manage a successful outside parts sales team by achieving sales and profit objectives through increasing overall market share, continuous process improvement, coaching and personnel development, lead management and generation, customer retention and developing marketing initiatives to grow department sales and profitability. This position is crucial to achieve the highest customer satisfaction by performing duties in accordance with current vendor practices and our company’s policies and procedures.

Accountabilities

· Ensuring Parts Department growth and profitability through increasing market share with outside wholesale and fleet accounts.

· Grow the customer base and achieve market share targets by leading the sales team in meeting parts sales objectives in the designated area of responsibility (AOR) through sales calls, fact finding, presentation selling, closing deals and ensuring after-sales support of our valued customers.

· Coach and lead outside parts sales team in prospecting for new accounts/referrals which include compiling and updating a list of prospective clients to provide leads for additional business. Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive account specific growth strategies.

· Set and obtain sales and profit objectives on monthly and annual basis for outside parts sales team. Responsible for monthly commission payouts for outside parts team, as well as assisting in collection of past due accounts.

· Develop and coordinate marketing/advertising initiatives in efforts to grow parts sales.

· Ensure outside parts sales team is servicing existing accounts and communicating with clients on a regular basis in order to provide highest level of customer service.

· Lead and mentor the employees within the department, as well as foster relationships throughout the dealership. Recruit, train and develop the outside parts sales team.

· Assist in coordination of daily outbound deliveries and route planning to ensure proper parts are delivered to the right locations by promised delivery time.

Requirements

  

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor’s Degree in Business related field or High School Diploma/GED with equivalent work experience.

· 4-6 years of territory sales experience, with demonstrated growth success in specific customer accounts.

· 2 years of direct management experience.

· Proficiency in MS Office software applications (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint).

· Must possess a current and valid driver license with a driving record that meets the insurability guidelines set forth by the company's insurance carrier.

· Promote continuous improvement within the department.

· Maintain a high degree of product and technical knowledge.

· Must be a team player with a strong sense of commitment to the customer.

· Must be self-motivated and have good written and verbal communication skills.

· Must conduct oneself in a professional manner.

· Must be able to adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities and be responsive and flexible to best serve the issue at hand.

· Must have the ability to accept and react to change and lead others in a similar positive direction.

· Must have superior problem-solving skills to achieve a win-win solution.


  

Preferred Qualifications

· Good organizational skills & strong attention to detail.

· DMS system experience highly preferred (CDK, Karmak, Procede).

· Proficiency with Online Parts Catalog & Ecommerce.

· Knowledge of dealer and fleet maintenance procedures and systems.

· Working knowledge of International and supplier/vendor warranty policies.

Performance Goals

· Meeting monthly and year-to-date performance figures.

· Consistent achievement of Parts Growth Program Targets.
