In support of Planned Parenthood of Central and Western New York (PPCWNY)’s mission, the Teen Reality Theatre (TRT) Coordinator will facilitate the theatre education and outreach activities of the TRT peer education group with the goal of communicating information about a wide range of sexuality, relationship, and reproductive health issues.
- Attends and assists in weekly production stage rehearsals and writing projects
- Attends and assists with TRT theatrical programs
- Assists in all aspects of scripting, rehearsing and performing of TRT outreach activities
- Assists in the casting and rehearsing of TRT performances
- Creates theater lesson plans for students to compliment the work TRT is currently involved in
- Assists in the supervision of TRT members during performances and events
- Assists in the marketing and outreach activities for TRT
- Maintains communication with the TRT members
- Engages in weekly meetings with the Educator and TRT Producer
- Assists TRT and education staff with social media and social media campaigns
- Performs education co-facilitation when necessary and appropriate with the Educator and TRT Producer

Applicants must possess the following qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience):
Education—
- GED/High School Diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts preferred
Experience—
- Minimum of two years of stage directing experience in theatre
- Minimum of two years of experience with different acting techniques and applications
- Experience developing hands on programming that teaches theatre to students with range of skill sets
- Experience working with youth preferred
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Word is required
- Must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule with ability to travel when needed
- Must have reliable transportation and/or a valid driver’s license not in jeopardy of being revoked
- Demonstrates a commitment to respecting and learning about the cultural differences, backgrounds, historical traumas, and intersectionality of all colleagues, clients, customers, and vendors
