Operations Supervisor - 2nd Shift

Summary:

We are currently seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to join our dynamic 2nd Shift Operations Team. At CORMETECH our Operations Supervisors are passionate about ensuring operational goals are achieved for output, quality, safety, and housekeeping. Your primary role will be to provide communication, direction, corrective action, coaching and training Operations Associates.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Provide directions and ensure that team members are following all processes, procedures, and protocols within specifications.
  • Manage daily inventory including raw materials to ensure adequate supply for production. Recognize employees for jobs well done; motivate team.
  • Recognize employees for jobs well done; motivate team.
  • Maintain all safety and housekeeping requirements and ISO quality standards.
  • Timely report and investigate all accidents and incidents.
  • Maintain all employee time tracking including holidays, unpaid time, absences, and paid time off.
  • Coordinate the daily activities of the department ensuring maximum efficiency by maximizing utilization of labor, equipment capacity, and materials.
  • Ensure the team is trained by assessing team members training needs and completing required training in a timely manner.
  • Identify and manage department staffing needs including overtime management.
  • Provide recommendations for operator performance reviews.
  • Review operator performance and pay for performance certifications.
  • Assign duties and follow up to ensure completion.
  • Facilitate shift/department meetings.
  • Administer disciplinary documentation and procedures as necessary.
  • Startup equipment and shut down when a safety concern arises that merits the shutdown.
Requirements

 What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Science, Engineering, Business or related field or equivalent experience
  • Good leadership and managerial capabilities
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Ability to coach and provide constructive feedback and instructions to others
  • Exercise independent judgment in making sound decisions
  • Good computer skills in MS Word and Excel
  • Ability to work efficiently independently and cooperatively on a team.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills


What Skills and Knowledge We Prefer:

  • Prior team leadership experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Forklift experience


The Working Conditions:

  • Mechanical noise
  • Dusty and dirty work environment due to materials and raw material
  • Varying temperatures from warm to cool


The Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift push, pull, and carry 25 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Standing for extended periods of time
  • Walking, stooping, bending, crouching, twisting, climbing, and kneeling.


Work Schedule

  • 2nd Shift 3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday (overtime  required)

Location:

Cormetech is located in Charlotte, North Carolina, Durham North Carolina, Kings Mountain North Carolina, and Cleveland Tennessee. This position will be based out of our Durham, North Carolina location. This position will be in-person.
