Maintenance Technician
Description

 The position will work as a shift maintenance technician and will be responsible for addressing and correcting equipment issues/breakdowns during the course of assigned shift. Areas of responsibility include manufacturing assets at the site as well as utilities equipment needed to support lines of business.  

Requirements

  

- 1-2 years’ experience as a maintenance technician.

- Initiate, implement, and manage the plant maintenance program based on best practices with an emphasis on planning/scheduling and preventive maintenance using equipment vendor guidance.

- Operate and maintain a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment.

- Monitor the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment and initiates reordering when necessary. 

- Ability to understand and work with various types of machinery and the tools required to work on each.

- Perform preventive and corrective/emergent maintenance tasks across the warehouse and production areas including installed equipment, facilities, and forklifts.

- Ensure assigned projects are completed timely, correctly, safely and to the standard.

- Understand, operate, and train operators on installed production equipment. Operate equipment as may be necessary during the performance of duties to include forklift, scissors lifts, etc.

- Willing to work flexible hours when needed.

- Good physical condition. Note: Job requires extensive physical activity to include heavy lifting, climbing ladders, heights, etc.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

- Prior experience in manufacturing/shipping a plus

- Good mechanical, organizational, time-management, communication, and prioritization skills.

- Valid State Driver’s License required.

- Experience in Industrial manufacturing a plus.

EDUCATION: Established maintenance experience

- Knowledge of work-safety issues, regulations and programs, and utility ordinances.

- Work well in a team environment with a diverse group of people.

- Attention to detail.

Physical demands: while performing duties employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Employee must occasionally lift and/ or move up to 25 pounds.

Work environment: The plant operation is highly automated with safeguards in place to prevent unintentional interaction with automatic equipment. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
