Work Hours: 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Workdays: Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday
Location: 919 Mission Road, San Antonio, TX 78210

Summary:

Provide comprehensive delivery of therapeutic counseling and related services to adults and children at least 62% of the time. Must understand how to complete an Assessment and Treatment Plan from a Trauma Informed Lens and will ensure 100% of eligible clients receive completed assessment and treatment plans. Complete clinical documentation within 48 hours of service provision. Participate in clinical staff meetings and program development. Participate in providing field-based services and consultation as needed. Must be willing to maintain flexible schedule to meet the needs of clients and respond to on call rotation for emergencies. This position includes 1 hour or clinical supervision by an LPC, LPC-S or LMFT-S. 


Position Responsibilities:

  • *Provide individual/family/couples/crisis counseling, psycho-educational classes, group therapy and other clinical program services 
  • *Participate in service planning, goal setting, discharge planning, and clinical rounds, as a member of client support team.
  • *Maintain Licensure in good standing adhering with the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council and Licensure Board established professional standards. 
  • *Maintain training and supervision necessary for competency and systematic use of evidenced based practice within theoretical model (s) specific to population served (TF-CBT, DBT, Perinatal Mental Health, Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation)
  • *Ensure all clinical documentation, assessments, treatment plans, session notes, and other documentation is completed including data entry, signatures, and documentation uploads are completed within required timeframes.
  • Participates in on call rotation as directed by management. Be available and respond to crisis situations and emergencies promptly, providing guidance for staff and clear directives.
  • Review client incident reports and provide consultation to resident and/or program as needed.
  • Report incidents involving residents or staff to Lead Therapist, Program Director, Vice President of Programs and all other parties as required by licensing/contractor requirements.
  • Respond to emails and information requests promptly, for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Bill appropriate funding sources for time and services as specified in contracts and grants.   
  • Other duties as assigned by Lead Therapist and/or Clinical Director.

Requirements

  

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education

o Master’s degree or higher in social work, counseling, psychology, or other relevant behavioral science with clinical experience, plus 2 years of postgraduate direct service delivery experience.

o LPC, LPC-A, LMFT, LMFT-A, LMSW or LCSW required

  •  Experience

o 2 years of experience providing services to abused/neglected teens, children and their families and/or experience in residential childcare setting.

  •  License and Credentials

o Licensed to provide clinical services in the State of Texas.

o Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor or experience with Alcohol and Drug Treatment a plus.

o Reliable transportation.

o Valid driver license; Must have clean driving record

o Valid vehicle insurance.

· Submit to a state and federal background check, Child abuse and neglect registry check, and Tuberculosis screening.

· Be physically, mentally, and emotionally capable of performing assigned tasks and have the skills necessary to perform essential duties and responsibilities.


Minimum Knowledge and Skills:


  • Experience in shelter services including work with teens, infants and toddlers, residential.
  • Working knowledge of issues faced by teen parents, post-partum conditions, peri-natal mental health, child and adolescent development and trauma-informed care.
  • Ability to conduct therapy using the Spanish language is a PLUS.
  • Willing to work from a Faith Based Lens is a PLUS.
  • Experience with computer software and MS Office suite required.
  • A solid grasp of creating learning opportunities and development safe, stimulating environments for teens and young children.
  • Ability to evaluate tasks, establish priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate program goals and expectations verbally and in writing to a variety of learners.
  • Ability and willingness to work some evenings and/or weekend hours as needed.
  • Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team.
  • Must have good written and verbal skills.
  • Must have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.


Travel Requirements:

Travel requirements for the position includes 10 to 30% local and less than 5% overnight.
