Description

 

Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned as needed):

  • Responsible for installing & commissioning new control systems, diagnosing, and repair of direct digital control, airflow, refrigeration & control and mechanical techniques in commercial settings. 
  • Equipment troubleshooting and repair on different types and brands of equipment.
  • At times when Controls Work is slow, the applicant will be expected to perform high level repairs, replace compressors, bearings, different motors and other skilled repairs in a timely manor, and to preform PMs on HVAC equipment. 
  • Installing Sensors, Actuators, Valves, Dampers, Controllers, Transformers, and System Wiring. 
  • Ability and knowledge to know what connects to AIs, DIs, AOs, DOs, and other controls related terminals and associated language. 
  • Service a variety of HVAC equipment including chillers, cooling towers, split systems, water source heat pumps, rooftop units, computer room air conditioners, mini-split systems, packaged systems and more. 
  • Work closely with dispatcher and other team members in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Complete invoices, time sheets, and other paperwork as required.
  • Ability to work as a team member and as an individual. 
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours as needed. 
  • Respond to emergency calls as required, on call rotation.
Requirements

 

Requirements/Education:

  • Applicants must have at least a High School Diploma or GED
  • Level 1 Niagara N4 Certification 
  • 5 years HVAC service experience 
  • EPA License
  • Must be able to read wiring diagrams. 
  • Pass background and drug screen
  • At least 1 year working with BACnet Based Communication Systems 
  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record
  • Prove eligibility to work in the US
  • Ability to organize and follow a set of guidelines and instructions 
  • Knowledge and ability of running and bending EMT type conduit is a plus. 
  • Must have experience with RTU start-up, checking rotation, etc.
  • Must have knowledge/experience working with low voltage controls, (thermostats, sensors, smoke detectors, equipment control boards, etc.).

Physical Demands:

  • Must be well groomed, wear approved company uniform at all times
  • Pass drug test and physical as required by Estes Services
  • Must be able to carry and setup a 32’ ladder by yourself
  • Must be able to physically perform job requirements, such as (but not limited to): standing, crawling, bending, squatting, kneeling or climbing ladders repeatedly (up to 25 times an hour), or for long periods of time (for up to two - four hours), lifting weights of 50 pounds or more, etc.
  • Must be able to work in extreme weather and climate conditions (hot attics, year-round outdoor conditions, etc.);
  • Must be able to work in tight, poorly lit and cramped conditions;
  • Must be able to execute all of the above functions and meet all of the above demands safely, posing no threat to themselves or those around them while doing so, and must willingly comply with applicable safety regulations in the completion of all work.

Salary Description
