Financial Controller
The position is based out of Chesapeake, VA in a satellite office. The company is based out of Kill Devil Hills, NC. This is not a recruiter posting.
SAGA Construction and Development (SAGA), a Real Estate Development and Construction company based in Kill Devil Hills, NC (OBX) is seeking a self-motivated and driven Financial Controller with at least 5 years of Accounting/Finance management experience. Having a degree in accounting is a must, and having a CPA, CMA or MBA is a big plus.
Responsibilities are broad and include all aspects of company accounting and financial needs to ensure the success of its businesses. This position requires excellent interpersonal and analytical skills and the ability to motivate and manage an accounting team working in multiple locations. Primarily in Outer Banks, NC.
This position will be reporting directly to the CFO and other principal partners of the company. Below is an illustrative list of responsibilities.

Ensuring that an organization meets the necessary tax, permit and licensing requirements and maintains good standing.

Overseeing financial control activities, including the review and analysis of monthly and quarterly numbers and disclosures for all its companies.

Tax preparation with external CPA/TAC accounting firm.
•
Collaborating with partners and other executives in establishing effective processes and controls to ensure the integrity of a company’s ledger at all times.

Providing team with accurate and comprehensive financial reporting.
•
Providing external auditors/bankers with the necessary documentation and support.
•
Ensuring diligence in maintaining separate books for all companies.

Compensation: 90K to 120K starting plus performance bonuses. Ability to increase substantially with proven on the job skills. A higher compensation package is available for highly experienced individuals with a proven track record and ability to transition into CFO position.
