Adventurous Journeys Capital Partners (“AJCP”) is seeking a Corporate Controller to manage, oversee, and optimize execution in the firm’s corporate accounting, reporting, and finance functions and support AJCP’s rapid growth across multiple investment platforms, including Graduate Hotels®.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Corporate Controller will provide leadership to a team of 3+ outsourced professionals in the U.S. and India, and act as a change agent to improve corporate accounting and finance functions to support AJCP’s rapid growth. The Corporate Controller will lead the accounting functions for AJCP’s management and brand companies on a day-to-day basis, including general ledger accounting, financial reporting and consolidations. This role will also manage AJCP’s financial operations and corporate treasury functions, including working capital management, payroll reconciliation, and accounts payable activities.


WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Provide financial, business, and technical accounting expertise to facilitate the timely generation, synthesis, and distribution of accurate financial reports for management and lenders
  • Identify and implement standardized best practices, technologies, and internal controls to help AJCP scale efficiently and mitigate risks
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting closes
  • Oversee and support outsourced accounting teams in the monthly and quarterly reporting
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements and reporting packages for management and lender reporting
  • Manage the corporate audit
  • Manage and optimize banking relationships to improve operating efficiencies and reduce fees
  • Review current and establish new accounting controls in connection with the Chief Accounting Officer
  • Perform any additional responsibilities that may be required to support AJCP’s rapid growth

WHO YOU ARE

AJCP is seeking a highly-motivated individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced, but disciplined, entrepreneurial environment. The ideal candidate will have experience leading accounting and finance functions for a private equity firm or investment advisor and will know how to drive organization-wide decision making by providing teams with clear, useful, and timely financial reporting. Requirements

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS


Required

  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • A bachelors' degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or another business-related field
  • Licensed CPA

Preferred

  • Big 4 public accounting experience, combined with experience in partnership accounting, investment company accounting, construction accounting, and/or real estate accounting
  • An advanced degree, such as a Masters of Accountancy / MAC or a Masters of Business Administration / MBA
