Through safety-net services and asset building solutions, Worcester Community Action Council (WCAC) creates economic mobility opportunities for tens of thousands of people annually through programs such as energy assistance, early education and care, financial empowerment, positive youth development, and career pathways. WCAC serves 45 towns in Central and South-Central Massachusetts with offices located in Worcester, Southbridge, Webster, East Brookfield, and Leicester. We are a team of 145 employees and an annual budget of approximately $30 million. Position Summary:

WCAC’s Resiliency Center offers programming intended to educate, empower, and connect people to financial opportunities and support them to reach their self-identified goals using a holistic, client-centered approach to meeting individuals and families where they are with warm, supported resources and referral services. The successful candidate will assist individuals and families with navigation through public benefit eligibility and connection to needed community resources, resulting in improved access to basic needs and progress toward economic mobility. This position will work closely with the Resiliency Center team, and will report to the Resiliency Center Director.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or HiSet equivalent required. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to learn software and databases used by WCAC.
  • Familiarity with Worcester and knowledge of community resources.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy. 
  • Must work cooperatively and effectively with a diverse population.
  • Positive, friendly, and resourceful demeanor required.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities. 
  • Embraces and promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Ability to speak Spanish or other languages, a plus.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to successfully complete a CORI/SORI review.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required. 
  • May require weekend and evening hours, as needed.
