At Penn Power Group, the human resources (HR) team is focused on what people need and how to provide it. We’re searching for a qualified and resourceful HR Specialist to support our department in ensuring smooth and efficient business operations. The HR Specialist will have both administrative and support responsibilities (executive leadership) and will help with important functions such as HRIS information management, employee relations, training and development, and performance management. At PPG, we understand that our business thrives when our employees thrive, and it begins with hiring the right HR specialist. This is an in-office position with the ability to work one day at home after 6 months of service.

Requirements
  • Handle all administrative tasks for pre-employment, onboarding, and exit interviews, including data entry in human resources information systems (HRIS) and audits for accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide a dedicated and effective HR advisory service to employees that covers absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievances, organizational change, and all other employee-relations matters.
  • Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook and contribute to policy development.
  • Reinforce the company policies, rules, and procedures to ensure employees’ safety and compliance.
  • Recommend and develop employee relations practices to foster positive employer-employee relations.
  • Use HR software to manage payroll and employee benefits, including bonuses, leaves, and conduct absences administration.
  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements and conducting investigations.
  • Conduct and analyze exit interviews and make actionable recommendations based on data.
  • Be the administrative support person to the CEO & CFO.

YOU HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in human resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Resourceful mindset and strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency of MS Office, and 2+ years’ experience.
  • 2+ years of HRIS software maintenance experience, Paylocity preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience working in the human resources field.
  • 2+ years implementing tactics to improve performance management.
  • Good knowledge of national laws and regulations related to employment.

  • Efficient problem solving and decision-making when any human resources issues arise.
  • Ability to develop and manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Capacity to apply discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
