Job Summary: The Park Operations Coordinator is responsible for day-to-day park operations at the direction of the Park Operations Supervisor. Through oversight and strong collaboration across all departments, the Park Operations Coordinator will ensure the successful operations of the Park Operations branch. This entails monitoring, caring for, cleaning, and reporting conditions of park facilities, amenities, trails, and restrooms. This position must be able to work Saturday-Wednesday. Base schedule will be from 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM or 10:30am-7pm depending on the hours of operation of the Running Trail Center or special events. Shift time will vary seasonally to provide afternoon coverage at Memorial Park and support for events throughout the year.
Responsibilities and Duties Include:
- The park operations coordinator will work with the park operations supervisor and ensure all areas of Memorial Park remain clean and well maintained. Lead a team of staff daily to maintain each of the assigned designated zones and plan for upcoming tasks or projects as needed.
- Assist Park Operations Supervisor to effectively manage employee schedules to accommodate adequate park coverage, 7 days per week and 365 days per year to deliver the expected maintenance of the park.
- Ensure completion of the Park Operations daily and periodic SOPs, that include cleaning, servicing, and minor repairs.
- Operate small and large equipment including utility vehicles, trucks, trailers, backpack blowers, pressure washers, and others as needed.??
- Demonstrate ownership of assigned work by upholding and maintaining standards to the highest degree by understanding park aesthetic and standard operating procedures.
- Identify, coordinate, and complete work orders for the branch using MPC’s asset management software.
- Document, inventory, report, and catalog data and information relevant to park operations.
- Assist with ensuring appropriate inventory and care of equipment, supplies, and materials for daily operations.?
- Influence budget needs and coordinate procurement of tools and supplies.
- Communicate employee observations to Supervisor and/or manager for recognition or disciplinary action.
- Demonstrate ownership of assigned work by upholding and maintaining standards to the highest degree.?
- Communicate issues regarding infrastructure, furnishings, safety hazards, quality of the park user experience issues as needed
- Enforce MPC rules, safety policies, and procedures, and appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Conduct and document safety training as needed and ensure compliance with safety protocol.?
- Assist Park Operations Supervisor to effectively arrange employee schedules to accommodate organization programs outside of normal branch responsibilities.
- Work collaboratively and creatively with Park Operations leadership in a team-first environment.
- Interact with Park patrons in a courteous and professional manner. Ensure team members are trained and adhering accordingly. Be prepared to provide accurate and pertinent information regarding MPC and the Park.
- Assist with other Park Operations teams as needed.?
Minimum Requirements:
- Two years minimum experience in parks and recreation operations or similar field.
- Two years minimum experience managing projects and crews.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning standards and operating procedures of restrooms and facilities.
- Ability to work a varied schedule that includes weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Strong communications skills; highly motivated; ability to work independently but also collaboratively.
- Computer software competency (Microsoft Office 365) and ability to learn and integrate new software tools.
- Ability to train and disseminate information regarding industry standards and best practices to staff.
- Bilingual applicant preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License.

- Ability to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout a given workday.
- Ability to operate power equipment throughout a workday.
- Ability to stand, crouch, and climb to use ladders and perform various types of manual labor throughout the day.

Compensation:?
This is an hourly non-exempt position; range is $21-$24 per hour. Benefits include full medical, dental, and vision benefits, paid time off, short-term and long-term disability and 401k retirement plan.??
