Description

The Transportation Supervisor oversees drivers to ensure success we meet our safety, customer service, accuracy and efficiency goals. The Transportation Supervisor ensures that routes and plans consistently meet customer service expectations for on-time delivery, while maximizing utilization of OGC’s fleet.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Supervise and directly plan efficient, effective and safe routes for all PNW regional delivery areas.
  • Adjust routes and schedules as necessary to meet customer requests.
  • Enter and maintain detailed and accurate information in the transportation management software regarding fleet specifications, delivery constraints, customer preferences, driver schedules and routing details.
  • Communicate necessary routing operations information and schedules with internal customers, carriers/vendors, team members, and management.
  • Investigate root cause analysis following feedback concerning routing operations (internal and external).
  • Oversee backhaul and front haul opportunities and delivery modifications.
  • Perform facility maintenance.
  • Address daily ad-hoc issues regarding property and tenants supported by management.
  • Perform all supervisory responsibilities for assigned staff.
  • Recruit, hire and develop drivers to ensure proper staffing.
  • Monitor performance, training and development, coaching for success and takes corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy.
  • Maintain equipment tracker for fuel, mileage, refrigeration unit hours and other fleet records to assure prompt preventative maintenance and repairs to ensure compliance with FMCSA, ODOT, and OSHA standards.
  • Ensure fleet is insured and properly registered with the appropriate state and federal agencies.
  • Report all accidents, and ensure all drivers receive necessary safety training.
  • Monitor driver infractions/citations and retrain drivers with opportunities to improve.
  • Audit driver hours-of-service logs for accuracy and violations.
  • Develop, train, and document mandatory DOT driver training.
Requirements
  • A minimum of two years’ leadership/supervisory experience.
  • A valid Class A driver's license.
  • Experience using routing and dispatch TMS software and electronic log software required.
  • Understand retail and vendor landscape, routing & dispatch, backhaul opportunities, truck safety & DOT compliance, cold chain custody, the product line, and seasons.
  • Extensive knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations.
  • Skilled at establishing clear directions, distributing workload appropriately and maintaining two-way dialogue with others on work and results.
  • Comfortable leading a team; ability to act as a team player and take on work wherever needed to help the team succeed.
  • Ability to work cohesively in a team environment; able to switch tasks quickly and efficiently as needed.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Be self-driven and able to work independently; Timely with meeting work commitments
  • Ability to operate computers efficiently; knowledge of basic programs including Microsoft Office products

Salary Description
$60,000 - $70,000 annually
