JOB SUMMARY 

The Temporary Store Manager is responsible for all activities in their assigned store. These include but are not limited to the achievement of all financial goals (daily, weekly, monthly, sales goals and comps), effective merchandise presentation, the flow of donated goods, the development of assigned staff and program participants and superior customer service standards while maintaining Goodwill’s mission and core values.

What Your Day Will Look Like: 

  • Manage a team of store staff to achieve sales targets and deliver outstanding customer service 
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance, inventory levels, and expenses to identify areas for improvement and take corrective actions as needed 
  • Oversee inventory management processes, including stock replenishment, ordering, and stocktaking 
  • Manage administrative tasks such as scheduling, payroll, and reporting 
  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise store employees, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively 
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a timely and professional manner, striving to resolve issues and exceed customer expectations 
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store environment that reflects Goodwill SF Bay’s image and values 
  • Support a positive and collaborative work culture, motivating and inspiring team members to achieve their goals and deliver exceptional performance 
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards at all times 

Who You Are: 

  • Previous retail management experience is required 
  • Ability to effectively coach, mentor, and develop team members 
  • Excellent customer service skills with a customer-focused approach 
  • Ability to multitask and shift priorities in a fast-paced environment 
  • Results-driven mindset with a track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and point-of-sales systems 
  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule, including nights and weekends 
  • Must be able to frequently lift/carry/push/pull at minimum 35 lbs
  • Must be able to occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop 
  • Must be able to walk and stand on hard surfaces for an extended period of time
