Position Summary: As a Youth Apprentice, you will engage in a 450 hr+ comprehensive learning and working experience designed to develop your skills and knowledge in various Manufacturing Roles such as; Production, Machine Maintenance, Supply Chain.
This role is ideal for individuals seeking; hands-on experience, mentorship, and opportunities for growth within a supportive environment, potential for future employment or advanced apprenticeship placement (advanced placement opportunities based on YA goals and abilities – Engineering, Human Resources, etc.), valuable experience to enhance your resume and career prospects.
Principle Responsibilities:
Learning and Skill Development:
- Participate in on-the-job training to learn the fundamentals of the designated trade or industry.
- Acquire practical skills through hands-on experience under the guidance of experienced professionals.
- Attend workshops, seminars, and educational sessions to enhance technical knowledge and understanding.
Assisting Staff:
- Support staff members in various tasks and projects as directed.
- Shadow experienced workers to observe and learn best practices.
- Assist in the execution of tasks related to the assign department/profession.
Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a secure working environment.
- Participate in safety training sessions and maintain awareness of potential hazards.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of work activities, including hours worked, tasks completed, and skills acquired.
- Prepare reports and documentation as required by supervisors or program administrators.
Professional Development:
- Actively seek feedback from supervisors and mentors to identify areas for improvement.
- Take initiative in self-directed learning and skill development.
- Participate in networking opportunities to build professional relationships within the industry.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed, including special projects and tasks as delegated supervisor.
Education Requirements (R/Required, P/Preferred):
(R) Currently in High School (must be 16 years of age)
- Enrolled in a youth apprenticeship program or equivalent vocational training initiative.
