Description

Provides clinical and administrative support for Community First Medical Center physician practices. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Prepares patient rooms for office visits. 

2.  Obtains medical history

3. Complete medication reconciliation. 

4. Instructs patients on required pre-surgery and/or pre-test preparation.

5. Performs a physical exam, looking for deformities or irregularities on the patient’s body. 

6. Performs a variety of laboratory procedures.

7. Assists physician with physical exams, minor surgical procedures and treatments, Assist physicians with exams.

8. Receives, organizes, and maintains secure storage of medicine samples provided by pharmacy reps. 

9.  Provide patient education as directed by the doctor or other provider

10. Schedule patient appointments

11. Schedule surgeries and diagnostic procedures.

12. Reviewing the daily patient schedule with the physician

13. Filling out paperwork needed for the day.

14.  Performs equipment sterilization at site or prepares equipment for transfer to another facility for sterilization.

15.  Maintains cleanliness and general appearance of exam rooms. Cleans rooms after each patient visit.

16.  Assists with admin. duties such as answer telephones, scheduling appts, demographic/insurance info.  

17.  Identifies, orders and stocks clinical supplies with supervisor’s approval.

18.  Complies with all Federal and State regulatory bodies.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience  

  • 1-3 years of experience of working as a Medical Assistant in a Physician office preferred, New graduates are welcome.
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent. If hired after April 1, 2018, must have degree Medical Assistant, or equivalent. 
  • Epic Exp. preferred 
  • Must be American Association of Medical Assistant certified or pending AAMA certification exam..
  • Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Good organizational skills with ability to prioritize.
  • Ability to speak and write English to the extent necessary for safe and efficient performance of the job. In certain medical offices, incumbent may need to be bi-lingual.
