How You Will Make a Difference

MD&A is looking for a bilingual HR Generalist to partner with our Industrial Gas Turbine (IGT) Division leaders and employees, located in Houston, TX, and San Antonio, TX, on overall HR operations.  This includes talent acquisition and retention, onboarding, employee relations, and talent planning.  


Our HR Generalist reports to the Director of HR, located in Latham, NY, and is part of a dedicated and focused HR/People Operations Team who support MD&A’s #1 priority – OUR PEOPLE. 


 

MD&A’s HR Generalist  will be responsible for: 

  • Develop strong partnerships with business leaders to understand their goals and challenges, and provide strategic HR guidance and support
  • Act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on a wide range of HR matters, including performance management, talent development, employee relations, and organizational effectiveness
  • Support the implementation and ongoing management of employee life cycle and talent management programs, including talent acquisition efforts, new hire onboarding, performance reviews, talent assessments and succession planning, and exit interviews
  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers on employee relations matters, ensuring fair and consistent treatment of employees and adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Partner with hiring managers and teams to assess needs, development job descriptions, post open positions, and track candidates through recruitment cycle
  • Proactively source for potential candidates, conduct pre-screening interviews, review candidates with hiring managers, schedule interviews, and partner with hiring managers on developing offers for selected candidates
  • Collaborate with the HR team to develop and implement HR initiatives and programs that support company and department goals, drives employee engagement, and enhances employee satisfaction and retention
  • Serve as an advocate for employees, ensuring their concerns and feedback are heard and addressed appropriately
  • · Partner with hiring managers and teams to assess needs, development job descriptions, post open positions, and track candidates through recruitment cycle
  • Proactively source for potential candidates, conduct pre-screening interviews, review candidates with hiring managers, schedule interviews, and partner with hiring managers on developing offers for selected candidates
  • Facilitate onboarding for candidates and new hire orientation
  • Build community partnerships with technical schools and universities to support their programs and promote MD&A’s talent acquisition efforts
  • Performing other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Must speak, read, and write effectively in English and Spanish
  • 5+ years of progressive experience within HR/People Operations, preferred experience in Engineering and/or manufacturing/machining related industries
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in employee relations and conducting investigations
  • Minimum of 3 years in an HR Generalist capacity, including Talent Acquisition/Recruitment
  • HS/GED or equivalent; BA in Human Resources or related field preferred
  • Experience recruiting from diverse sources and developing strong applicant pools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to analyze the quality of resume writing
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • Proven ability to network effectively, attract potential candidates, and build working relationships
  • Knowledgeable of hiring best practices, especially related to improving diversity
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications
