Short’s Travel Management, a leading provider of NCAA Athletic travel for collegiate athletics has a immediate opening for a Project Manager to join the team! What you can expect in this role:

The Project Manager is responsible for providing project planning and end-to-end management for established initiatives within the company. Ensure projects are completed to specification, within an established time frame and budget, and proactively identify and manage risks. You should have a deep understanding of the technical aspects of the project which is used effectively to communicate to technical teams and ensure projects technical requirements are correctly translated into deliverables. Using your industry expertise and technical understanding to improve all aspects of project planning and resource management.

Essential Functions:

  • Manages the activities of cross-functional teams to deliver successful project outcomes.
  • Oversee numerous projects impacting multiple business units.
  • Responsible project tracking of activities comprised of both internal and external resources and monitoring related budgets.
  • Conducting regular status meetings and preparing detailed reports on project milestones and deliverables.
  • Understand technical aspects of projects and ensures the project's technical requirements are correctly translated into deliverables.
  • Develop measurable success criteria that are proactively assessed over the project life cycle.
  • Develop, execute and monitor project plans providing revisions as necessary based on ongoing assessments to deliver project goals and objectives.
  • Identify and communicate project milestones, tasks and risks to project team and management. 
  • Fostering a collaborative environment, facilitating effective communication among team members and stakeholders.
  • Drive project issue resolution for the project(s) based on collaboration of peers and leveraging best practices.
  • Drive integrated planning and working sessions.
  • Conduct unbiased post project analysis for improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure project team is adequately staffed with required resources and anticipate resourcing needs/issues.
  •  Develop clearly documented TPM best practices.
  • We are a team at Short’s Travel Management and as such, you may be expected to assist in other departments or handle tasks outside of your typical position scope for the benefit of our clients or company. 
Requirements

Qualifications:

  

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, MIS, Business, or related field. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working complex projects, programs or initiatives through a full project management life cycle utilizing JIRA or similar software tool.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.
  • PMP Certification preferred
  • Salesforce experience preferred.

Technical Skills & Competencies:

  • Technical Expertise:. Strong knowledge in project management      methodology such as Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)
  •  Strategic Thinking: Ability to see the bigger picture and align data collection and Salesforce initiatives with the organization's goals.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work with diverse teams and stakeholders, bridging gaps between technical and non-technical members.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Problem-Solving: Proactive in identifying and resolving challenges, always looking for opportunities to enhance processes.
  • Project Management: Efficient in setting priorities, meeting deadlines, and managing resources.
