Summary of Position

The Mercy Hill Production Team provides support for the weekend services, both online and in person. The Front of House (FOH) Sound Engineer is responsible for mixing live sound at weekly gatherings, ensuring that the audio quality of the mix for the live service is consistent, from service preparation and sound check to the close of the service. The deliverables are many and not limited to the following: producing a quality live mix that represents the Mercy Hill sound during worship sets, executing service transitions to accurately support the service flow, and when necessary, to support the needs of the ministry, provide for other production related tasks related to audio, video, lights, setup, and teardown.

COMPETENCIES:

Job Competencies

  • Ability to mix levels within the parameters of the MH mix foundation.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Allen & Heath GLD112, SQ6, and/or Qu16 consoles. 
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback in a way that honors God and others.  


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Run FOH sound for Sunday gatherings, beginning as early as 7am for the band run-through until end of last service.
  • Properly start up and shutdown all tech gear relating to position.
  • Attend and support Essentials training and band rehearsals as needed. Schedule varies.

Essential job function: Duties #1 through #3 are designated as ADA essential functions and must be performed in this job. All other job duties are secondary functions.


Work Schedule

  1. Office Hours: As needed to support gatherings. Approx. 4-8 hours, weekly. 
  2. Time Off: The FOH Sound Engineer is expected to run sound 48-50 weeks of the year. Consult Mercy Hill Handbook for time off policy.

Physical Requirements: 

  1. Ability to continuously stand, sit, and/or walk.
  2. Ability to bend, climb stairs, and/or lift occasionally.
  3. Ability to lift 1 to 50 pounds occasionally. 
  4. Ability to squat occasionally.  
  5. Ability to communicate continuously with other people.  
  6. Ability to operate computers continuously in order to complete necessary office work.  
  7. Ability to continuously comprehend physical and/or digital documents and continuously prepare physical and/or digital documents. 

Work Environment

  1. May occasionally work in temperatures above 95 degrees and below 32 degrees.
  2. May occasionally walk on slippery or uneven surfaces.
  3. Noise level in the environment is frequently loud.
  4. May occasionally work outdoors.
  5. May continuously work indoors within office spaces.
