The Middle School Theology teacher, in addition to providing developmentally appropriate lessons on the Catholic faith, is responsible to provide an educational atmosphere that encourages positive student learning and to participate in a dynamic setting with other classroom teachers, administrators, and other staff members in the development and implementation of the school’s programs and goals. 

Candidates should be passionate about the content and be able to create engaging lessons for diverse learners.

Requirements
  •   Organize and direct lessons and activities related to the standards.
  • Develop and document weekly lesson plans consistent with curriculum guidelines.
  • Provide grade-appropriate instructional program of engaging and interactive activities/lessons for Middle School.
  • Maintain high professional standards consistent with the mission of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic School and the teachings of the Catholic Church.
  • Be responsible for the safety and active supervision of students at all times and for classroom management.
  • Assess and document student progress.
  • Implement lesson plans, utilizing techniques to motivate, challenge and engage students.
  • Interact effectively and respond to all parent communication in a professional, empathetic, and timely manner.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, committees, and professional development opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff and administration.
  • Integrate technology effectively into the classroom.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science and/or Education from an Accredited College or University.
  • Current Florida Teaching Certificate.  
  • Teaching experience preferred.
  • Requires an appreciation and respect for the Catholic Church and its teachings.
