Description

The Sushi and Culinary Associate will work closely with the Director of Product Innovation & Development. This person plays a key role in new project initiatives and provides support for franchisee training and field operations. Regular travel to franchise locations will be necessary to deliver hands-on training and assistance as required. This role involves a travel commitment to provide operational support when needed, with the remaining time dedicated to aiding the Training and Culinary Team.


The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sushi and hot food preparation, with a focus on Asian cuisine. Prior experience in the sushi franchise industry is preferred. Adaptability and a willingness to embrace change are essential qualities for success in this dynamic role. Moreover, candidates should demonstrate openness to feedback from all departments and exhibit strong collaborative skills to effectively communicate with multiple departments in achieving shared objectives. 


Key Responsibilities:

· Collaborate with the Director of Product Innovation and Development to support R&D projects, including menu & recipe developments, ingredient testing, and documenting.

· Travel to franchise locations as needed to provide hands-on training and support, ensuring consistency and excellence in food quality and presentation.

· Work closely with the Training Team to support franchisees in the classroom and kitchen.

· Support the Executive Chef during recipe developments and photoshoots. 

· When traveling, stay updated on industry trends, market demands, and competitor offerings to contribute insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.

· Maintain open communication channels with franchisees, gathering feedback and addressing concerns to enhance overall operational efficiency.

· Participate in meetings and events to represent the Operational Innovation Department.

· Adhere to company standards, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and brand guidelines.

· Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to accommodate evolving business needs and priorities.

Requirements

 · 2+ years of experience in sushi and hot food preparation, with a focus on Asian cuisine; franchise experience is a plus.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and personalities.

· Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.

· Must be a self-managed person that can work on a variety of projects with a diverse team with minimal direction or oversight.

· Proficiency in using Outlook email and other basic computer applications; familiarity with Excel is advantageous.

· A willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and some weekends, if necessary.

· Ability to work under tight timelines.

· A positive attitude, resilience, and a willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Salary Description
$50,000 per year
