The Lead Electrical Engineer is responsible for leading the design and development of the electrical systems for our next generation truck design. 


ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Review specifications and select appropriate electrical components

· Create foundation documents including but not limited to boundary diagram, logical schematics and DFMEA

· Approve the design and release of electrical schematics/diagrams and manufacturing designs and other documentations (BOM, Work Instructions, etc.)

· Lead the design of electrical architecture, power distribution, wiring, and electrical integration 

· Assign and direct daily tasks for engineers and techs as needed

· Lead a team to develop innovative solutions for application-specific designs and other new products

· Create troubleshooting and diagnosing instructions for new products and provide training for warranty and field service personnel

· Support engineering to troubleshoot trucks on the line and in the field

· Interpret customer wants and translate to requirements, schematics and design

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

· 5+ years of experience with electrical systems troubleshooting and repairing

· People management experience or education highly desired

· 5+ years of electrical system design and development

· Strong knowledge of automotive architecture and systems

· Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering required and a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or associated technical field a    plus

· Proficient in Microsoft Office products

· Must be organized, with strong communication skills

· Ability to work in a fast paced environment managing multiple projects simultaneously

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

· Experience with APQP process

· Familiarity with related regulations, FMVSS/SAE standards, and practices
