Description

The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for a wide range of duties including administration of all benefit and wellness programs, employee leave management and administration and optimization of HR technology. The HR Generalist will provide consultation and support on HR policies and procedures and general human resource and employee relations concerns. The selected individual will oversee payroll as well as the on- and off-boarding process for employees, and maintain compliance with all laws and regulations related to employment.


Essential Functions

  • Administers all credit union benefit programs including life, health, disability, 401(k) retirement savings, tuition reimbursement. Oversees benefit enrollment, changes, and terminations, audits and reconciles monthly billings for accuracy and processes payments.
  • Maintains and optimizes HR and talent related software systems and processes. Performs functional administration, configuration, and maintenance of HR systems. Optimizes features usage, and efficiencies, and ensures compliance and updates with applicable laws and regulations, which include HRIS, Payroll/Benefits, and applicant tracking, performance management, as well as all HR forms and documents.
  •  Works in coordination with HR Specialist to administer all leaves, including FMLA, Military Leave, Workers Compensation, Unpaid Leave, Short-term and Long-term disability programs; preparing all FMLA and disability paperwork; work with employees, managers, vendors and insurance carriers on claims and requests for accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Provides excellent service to employees and ensures they know their responsibilities related to leave application, certification, and reporting. 
  •  Oversee onboarding of new employees including internal notifications and employee start up logistics, and manages benefit enrollment procedures. Provides oversight for collection of new employee paperwork, verification of employment eligibility, and ensures all documents required for payroll processing are completed. Occasionally assists with conducting orientations for all new employees. 
  •  Consults with employees and managers on benefits, employee leaves, handbook policies and procedures, and general human resource matters. This may include providing resource referrals and escalating more complex issues to the VP of HR and Training or appropriate resources. • Works closely with VP of HR and Training on employee and labor relations cases and assist in internal investigations. 
  •  Checks and distributes W-2’s. Maintain proper ACA reporting. 1094/1095 data review and form release. 
  •  Coordinate Open Enrollment with vendors, including benefit package preparation, meeting schedules. 
  •  Works in coordination with HR Specialist to review benefit, payroll and miscellaneous HR bills for accuracy and approves and forwards to Accounting for payment. • Manages benefit enrollment for new and current employees with changes in status, including termination. 
  •  Administer and manage 401(k) benefits, including new enrollments, changes to deferrals and demographic info, NDT reporting and review, 5500 preparation/review/submission, distribution of regulatory 401(k) information. 
  •  Work in collaboration with VP of HR and Training to coordinate and communicate with brokers and vendors concerning administration and design of plans. 
  •  Completes miscellaneous research, reports, executive and employee surveys, and memos as requested. Reporting includes Federal and Delaware DOL employment reports, OSHA reporting, EEO-1, AAP.
  •  Assist with annual performance review process. Track reviews, prepare merit increase workbook, input data for merits.
  •  Completes unemployment claim forms and attends unemployment hearings for employees who have separated from the credit union.
  •  Administrator for CBSV and NMLS systems, overseeing enrollments, transfers and renewal process. • Creates positive working relationships with employees, credit union leadership and HR and Training Team. • Delivers exceptional service, models credit union values, and promotes a respectful and cooperative work environment.
  •  Ensures HR Team is cross-training amongst various HR functions.
Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management preferred, or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and professional level human resources experience is required. 

• Minimum of eight (8) years of professional human resources experience in more than one HR functional area or program. 

• Knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to employment and benefits. 

• Broad based knowledge of all functional areas of human resource management. 

• Must be technology savvy and have the ability to learn new software applications quickly. Proficient in the use of HRIS systems and MS Office software. • Ability to analyze complex and sensitive issues and situations, identify alternative solutions, and implement effective course of actions.

 • Ability to analyze work processes and make recommendations for process improvement.

 • Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage multiple projects and perform efficiently in a fast-paced environment. 

• Attention to detail and ability to ensure important details in process are not overlooked or missed. 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present information effectively to all levels of the organization. 

• Ability to build collaborative relationships with stakeholders across the organization.
