Description

Under the guidance of the Director of Product Development and Senior Product Development Technician, this role will participate in various stages of research, development and testing processes, contributing to the creation of exceptional and innovative products.


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist Senior Product Development Technician in creating samples according to recipes for customer distribution
  • Work closely with the Production Teams to coordinate production line time
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the product development lab
  • Support inventory management of raw materials and overall lab organization
  • Follow provided recipes meticulously to ensure precision in work
  • Demonstrate discernment in tasting and detecting subtle variations in food flavors and aromas
  • Reliable and regular transportation and attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry or a related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • Strong passion for food and a keen interest in flavor development, food ingredients and food technology
  • Basic knowledge of food science principles, food chemistry and food processing techniques
  • Detail-oriented mindset, ensuring precision in measurements, formulations and record-keeping
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey technical information clearly
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, contributing to shared goals and projects 

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong food sensitivity and has experience in Food Industry and/or culinary background.
  • Must have strong analytical skills and the ability to be proactive and resourceful with problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to details is a must
  • Must be able to weigh the recipes precisely and accurately.
  • Possess math skills to calculate batch formulas accurately.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all functions in English.
  • Ability to speak Spanish is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Willing to stand, walk, squat, bend reaching and work in hot/cold temperatures.
  • Ability to lift 20-40 lbs. 
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Ability to work in a facility that processes allergens.
