ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists residents and their guests in a courteous and efficient manner; and plays a vital role in ensuring overall resident satisfaction.
  • Uses discretion and maintains confidentiality of co-workers, management, owners, past and current residents, vendors, and all outside contacts.
  • Communicates in a courteous and professional manner with co-workers, management, residents, vendors, and all outside contacts; and works with team members to accomplish tasks, helps others in fulfilling service requests for residents.
  • Demonstrates an “eye for detail” when performing cleaning tasks that include: mopping, sweeping, waxing, wiping, washing, dusting and vacuuming.
  • Completes service requests that pertain to housekeeping needs for residents moving-in or out, tidying-up model apartments and cleanliness of public areas.
  • Maintains cleanliness of the building’s exterior by taking trash to the waste bins, picking up litter and ensuring walkways are free of debris.
  • Maintain cleanliness of public areas by dusting and cleaning: furniture, picture frames, mirrors, windows, baseboards, carpet edges, inside and outside door panels, door ledges, thresholds and gym equipment.
  • Follows CCA Weekly Cleaning Checklist, to ensure areas are cleaned as per the frequency stipulated.
  • Follows the use of personal protective equipment when working with certain products for cleaning.
  • Reports any life safety issues to the Chief Engineer or Property Manager.
  • Maintains a safe, clean and organized work environment (i.e. shop, pool maintenance room, storage areas).
  • Maintains consistent and timely attendance, sets an example for their co-workers in punctuality.
  • Adheres to established policies related to the Fair Housing Act.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned including “Duties of the Employees” as stated in the most recent SEIU labor agreement.
Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous housekeeping experience in a hotel, commercial office, or apartment community.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule; any day of the week including weekends.
  • Ability to write, read and communicate professionally in English.
  • Participates in the union training program as outlined in the most current labor agreement.

SKILL AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to read and understand safety labels on cleaning supplies written in English.
  • Ability to resolve residents’ concerns while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to demonstrate customer service skills by engaging the residents in conversation to identify their needs or concerns.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong organizational skills to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively and adapt interpersonal skills to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to demonstrate teamwork, by assisting and communicating with co-workers.
