Description

The Accounting Manager will help lead the accounting and finance function for Whisker and work closely with the Assistant Controller and other cross-functional teams to provide timely and accurate financial reporting. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for a clean balance sheet and accurate income statement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages and oversees the daily operations of the department
  • Manages and analyzes balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports
  • Prepares account reconciliations to ensure a clean balance sheet
  • Oversees the Accounts Payable and vendor payment process
  • Manages cashflows and prepares reports
  • Prepares and/or reviews journal entries
  • Assists with financial audits and other related audits
  • Ensures financial security by maintaining and assessing internal controls
  • Works to reconcile accounting inaccuracies or imbalances
  • Will perform additional responsibilities when required 

Leadership Responsibilities

Directly supervises department Teams and carries out supervisory responsibilities following Whisker policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, training, and hiring, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, addressing team issues, and upholding safety and quality guidelines. 

Requirements
  • BA/BS degree in Accounting or applicable degree
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting with a demonstrated increase in responsibility
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Experience with ERP systems to optimize processes and business unit reporting – SAP B1 is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills, organized and detail-oriented
  • Team player with a “no task is too small” attitude

Not Required but Nice to Have!

  • CPA and/or tenure in public accounting a plus
  • Previous leadership experience a plus
  • Manufacturing/E-Commerce experience a plus
