Job Summary

The Special Drawer Assembler is responsible for all functions in the drawer's department from loading drawer boxes to final assembly.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Verifies all applicable paperwork (move tickets, sketches, job sheets) is accurate and complete to build drawer box. Looks up adjustable drawer partition to see if it gets any other accessories and which side should be drilled before bringing parts to busalato for drilling. Looks up and brings plumbing drawer bottoms and power stations back to east end for machining.
  • Gathers parts needed to assemble drawer boxes (sides, fronts, backs, bottoms, and drawer fronts), inspects parts for quality, orders remakes for parts that do not meet quality standards and stacks parts in specific order to ensure efficient assembly.
  • Loads maple boxes, color codes stickers and provides list to builders for coordination of drawer boxes and carts.
  • Pre-drills parts for front attachment.
  • Uses various equipment for building drawer boxes including air nailer, screw gun, saw, drill, or press.
  • Builds special accessories in compliance with sketches and quality standards.
  • Assembles SST boxes and drills fronts for the boxes.
  • Participates and contributes to a Work Team environment and follows Quality Control checks.
  • Follows all Safety Rules and contributes to a safe work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Required Education, Training or Experience

  • High School education or up to one-month related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Able to read and understand sketches, shop prints, and move tickets.
  • Able to read a tape measure in standard and metric.

Shop Environment

Employees must be able to cope with climates; endure heat and cold conditions in the shop. Fast paced workloads and high noise levels are normal. Paint fumes and exposure to chemicals associated with an industrial paint department may be present. Personal Protective Equipment as required by OSHA will be provided by the Company.
