Account Executive, TECH 

What We Need: 

The?Account Executive?(AE), Technology, is a media hound with strong experience collaborating on, and pitching about, some of the best tech brands on the market. The right AE candidate is committed to creative problem solving and flawless execution, and a positive attitude is a must. This person will have a passion for cloud-y technologies, adtech, fintech, retail tech, cybersec, and more. 

The word “teamwork” easily rolls off the tongue and is a main driver behind the work you produce. This role will sit in the New York office. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Actively engage and respond to client and media requests, with a thoughtful eye towards tier-1 service 
  • Pitch media daily across some of the hottest brands, meaning you are proactive and love every minute of media outreach 
  • Develop and maintain relationships with your team, clients and media on a real-time basis 
  • Exhibit effective time management and account service, keeping account team abreast of timelines and deadlines 
  • Excellent writing skills and interest in writing and placing bylined articles, blog posts and creative pitches 
  • Conducts research to support new business pitches and contribute to creative brainstorms; begin to develop presentation skills 
  • Proactively generate new ideas and opportunities to ensure client program success; participate actively in account team strategy sessions and brainstorms 
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of clients' businesses and industries, and the industry issues that directly and indirectly affect the client 
  • Provide client counsel on tactical matters linked to media plans; anticipate client needs and prepare in advance 
  • Begins to develop knowledge of the full services of MWW, procedures and business methods 
  • Provides mentorship to junior staff (Associates, Account Coordinators, Associate Account Executives); facilitate teamwork and learning opportunities by delegating and involving junior staff whenever possible; train account team members to assist in analysis / data gathering 

Requirements/Qualifications + Success Factors: 

  • At least 2 years of experience serving in a media relations role, either in a public relations agency or the communications department of a company in a relevant industry 
  • Experience developing key media pitches and bylined abstracts 
  • An understanding of the latest trends in tech industry and publications that matter most to tech clients 
  • Superior oral and written communication skills; proofreading and editing ability 
  • Maintain a professional, client-ready demeanor and presence; keep a high standard of etiquette in all communications and interactions 
  • Demonstrated proficiency with and affinity for digital tools and platforms (including social media), and the digital landscape overall 
  • Fluency in PR tools (e.g. Cision, Twitter, LinkedIn) 
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn a must 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple assignments and managing time in an organized manner while ensuring deadlines are met 
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of clients' businesses and industries; become an expert on clients' products and services; have the ability to demonstrate these products to media 
  • Ability to think strategically, creatively and proactively; exhibit a facility for problem solving and close attention to detail 
  • Possess strong attention to detail and ability to multitask 
  • Demonstrates motivation and a "can-do" attitude 
  • Desire to pursue knowledge and professional development 
  • Actively participate in agency development by working collaboratively across all practice areas and assisting with new business whenever possible 
  • Cultivate and exhibit strong presentation and interpersonal skills

Salary Description
50,000-60,000
