Performs a variety of quality control tests/inspections on products, materials, components, parts, etc., at various stages of the production process to insure compliance with quality and reliability standards. Use gauges or other devices to verify conformity to standards of product being tested. Records statistical data. Analyzes data and writes summaries to validate or show deviations from existing standards. Recommends modifications to existing, or suggests new standards, methods, and procedures.
Work will take place in a combination office/shop environment. Employee may be required to work weekends, holidays, and be on-call on occasion. While performing the duties of this job, employees may be exposed to mechanical or chemical processes requiring the use of personnel protective equipment.

Must have good problem-solving skills and follow-up.
Must be willing to accept new responsibilities as departmental needs change.
Must become well versed in customer requirements and how they can be properly measured.
Experience in the use of sound metrology, statistical techniques, and geometrical tolerancing a plus.
Must be committed to producing a high quality product and be able to communicate appropriate recommendations and constructive feedback to various department personnel.
Must be able to read blueprints, able to use general purpose inspection tools (i.e. micrometers, calipers, etc.)
Must be familiar with computers.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
