Description

Job Summary:

Waverley Country Club is looking for a lead Baker. The Lead Baker monitors deliveries, incoming orders, and stock, managing and coordinating a team of bakers and apprentice bakers. Following the recipe cards and making sure others follow them. Helping to prepare, finish off, and bake the bread.


Responsibilities:

Weighing flour and other ingredients to prepare the dough

Baking different bread types, like pretzels, baguettes, and multigrain loaves of bread

Decorating cakes with glazes, icings, buttercream, and edible toppings, like flowers

Understand, maintain, and follow recipes and practices that adhere to the company s quality commitment

Familiarity using large-scale kitchen equipment such as mixers, scales, ovens, stoves, blenders, knives, food processors, and other equipment

Bring any inventory, production, or equipment needs to the management's attention

Demonstrate time management skills with the ability to take direction and self-direct during slow periods

Work with a sense of urgency and creativity and be comfortable asking questions and receiving direction and critique



Requirements


Requirements:

2 + years of experience working with all types of bread and a wide range of pastries.

2+ years experience in a hotel or country club setting is preferred but not required (No school is required if they have the proper experience)

Organizational skills is a must

Team-oriented work ethic

consistent attendance and punctuality with availability, weekends, and holidays

comfortable working in an open kitchen

ability to follow prep lists, recipes, and written and verbal direction

ability to mix and shape pastries by hand

consistent attention to detail, cleanliness, and organization

ability to perform physical tasks - lift 50 lbs. above the waist

Benefits & Compensation

This position is eligible for Medical and Dental Benefits, paid time off, and sick pay. $20 to $22/hr (DOE)
