Description

The 3rd shift Supervisor is responsible for the operation of his or her department, utilizing the materials, personnel, machines, money and methods available to produce quality parts in the quantities necessary, in the time specified. The supervisor may delegate areas of authority to his/her assistant/relief as necessary by area or by shift, but total responsibility remains with the department Supervisor.


Essential Job Functions:

· The supervisor must be constantly aware of the continuous improvement for his/her area. He/she recommends improvements to increase productivity, makes sure prescribed methods are being utilized, recommends new jobs to be classified and helps in the evaluation of those jobs.

· The Supervisor communicates freely with all associates to encourage input for continuous improvement for all areas of production.

· The Supervisor is responsible to effectively utilize all people and supplies in order to affect the greatest savings.

· He/she is responsible to assure all of our associates are paid properly.

· The Supervisor may refuse incoming material if it fails to meet Channellock Quality Standards. All non-conforming product must be handled according to the Production Procedure Manual Section 4.13 of Non-conforming Product. All material must be sorted and kept in proper containers.

· Schedules must be met, and the flow of material must be kept in accordance with Progressive labs and E1. All experimental runs must be tagged and kept separate according to Quality Assurance procedures. The Supervisor is responsible for the quality of work performed in his or her department.

· The Supervisor is responsible for the best possible utilization of equipment by planning operations and manning the equipment in the department, scheduling set-ups; keeping equipment lubricated and clean; notifying maintenance of needed repair and assisting Maintenance in an active Preventive Maintenance Program.

Required Abilities/Skills

· All supervisors are to be competent in the areas of his/her department and be able to provide training to all associates in this area. Training may be delegated to qualified associates at the discretion of the supervisor.

· All Supervisors must possess strong interpersonal skills in a participative management environment. He or she must be aggressive in pursuing a program of continuous improvement in the search of a better way to make a quality product more efficiently.

· Basic computer skills are required in normal routine daily operations

· Ability to prioritize and handle many diverse projects and issues simultaneously; ability to deal with important issues that can have a significant impact on the long-term success of the Company.

· Must be organized and deadline oriented and have strong verbal communication skills.

· Must be able to lift 25 pounds or less
