ABOUT THIS ROLE

The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) is seeking a Content Creation and Awards Specialist to join their team!  As the Content Creation and Awards Specialist, you will play a dynamic role that involves managing key aspects of award programs, educational content delivery, and communication strategies.  This position will report to the Chief Executive Officer of the AVCA.  


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Awards (40%):

  • Assist the Director of Awards with all aspects of the program including but not limited to the dissemination of materials, forming committees, scheduling committee calls and updates, seeking nominations, continually improving processes, and looking for new membership-driving awards programs 
  • Lead Awards liaison and contact for assigned AVCA awards programs
  • Provide exceptional customer service, timely follow up, and membership support on all awards programs 

B. Education (25%):

  • Coordinate content, training, and delivery of AVCA education including webinars, coaching camps, and virtual clinics
  • Solicit proposals, coordinate collection of materials, and communicate with speakers on outlines, travel, AV needs and other essentials for the educational sessions at the AVCA Convention and Spring Conference (if applicable)
  • Contribute to training content and organize, edit, and curate educational content
  • Assist with the AVCA Coaches Mentoring Program

C. Communications (25%):

  • Assist with the production and dissemination of the AVCA women’s, men’s, and beach collegiate polls
  • Coordinate the collection of nominations and selection of Player/Pair of the Week Awards
  • Assist with social media efforts, including video editing and production
  • Monitor other media sites for news relevant to volleyball, the AVCA, or the sports landscape

D. Other Duties (10%):

  • Serve as primary liaison to AVCA Committees as assigned
  • Provide membership recruitment/retention support as needed
  • Provide on-site support for AVCA events
  • Additional duties as assigned by the CEO or COO
Requirements

 QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • An undergraduate degree or combined education or related experience
  • Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing to a diverse audience
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work
  • Demonstrate the highest level of ethical behavior
  • Remain flexible in order to adapt to changes in work environment
  • Study and apply new information and take initiative
  • Excellent time-management, problem prevention and problem-solving skills
  • Work accurately with close attention to detail
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Work effectively, professionally, and tactfully with AI’s workforce, team leaders, senior staff, and outside companies
  • Possess a work ethic that includes neatness, punctuality, and accuracy
  • Exhibit a professional, businesslike appearance and demeanor
  • Basic computer skills, including e-mail, word processing and spreadsheets
